Buick has not really been in the sedan game in the US for a bit now. They stopped with the Regal back in 2020 and shifted over to those crossovers and SUVs. Stuff like the Encore and Envision, those seem to sell pretty well. It is kind of surprising that they might want to come back to sedans.

There is this report from General Motors saying they are thinking about adding a sedan to Buicks lineup here in North America. People in the car world are talking about it using that Alpha II platform GM has. You know, the one in the Cadillac CT4 and CT5. Those are rear wheel drive and pretty quick cars. The CT4 is stopping production soon but the platform will keep going, maybe for the next CT5 or something.

Buick has not confirmed anything yet. But they do know sedans from their work in China. They sell the LaCrosse and Verano Pro there, which are basically sedans. It feels like that experience could help if they decide to make one for us. They even showed off the Wildcat EV concept, which looks sharp and might give ideas for future designs.

I think Buick could pull off a good sedan if they go for it. The Wildcat EV shows they have some cool ideas. Though it is hard to say exactly what it would end up like, especially since they have been all about SUVs lately.
